Ortto DKIM Setup

DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) adds a digital signature to your emails, allowing receiving servers to verify that the messages haven’t been altered and were sent from your domain. Setting up DKIM helps protect your brand and improve email deliverability.

Orrto, previously known as Autopilot, provides tools for automating customer journeys and email marketing.

This guide will walk you through the steps to set up DKIM for your domain when using Orrto.

Orrto DKIM Requirements

Step 3: Update Your DNS Records

To complete the setup, you’ll need to make five DNS record changes to verify domain ownership and enable DKIM. These changes must be made through your domain host (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap) or through DKIM Settings in Sendmarc. You may need assistance from your IT team for this step.

Important: The values shown below are just examples. Please use the exact DNS records provided in your Orrto account.

The types of DNS records you’ll need to add or update include:

  • CNAME (Alias)

  • A (Host)

  • TXT (Text)

Note: if you’re using Sendmarc for DKIM Management, you must only added the two DKIM keys (i.e. the two entries that have ‘_domainkey’ in the Host Record). The other 3 keys will need to be added to your DNS.

The method for updating DNS records varies depending on your domain provider. If you’re unsure how to make these changes, consult your domain host’s support documentation or contact their support team.
