1-Grid SPF setup

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is an email authentication protocol that helps prevent unauthorized senders from forging messages on behalf of your domain. It does this by specifying which mail servers are permitted to send email on behalf of your domain.

This guide walks you through the steps to configure SPF for 1-Grid, a South African web hosting provider.

1-Grid SPF Requirements

Note: If you’re already using Sendmarc for SPF management, simply copy ‘include:spf1.ip4:41.185.8.225 ~all’ and follow the steps here. To authorize 1-Grid to send emails on your domain’s behalf:
  1. Log in to your domain’s DNS dashboard.
  2. Go to the page where you can update the DNS settings on that domain.
  3. Check if a TXT record starting with v=spf1 already exists.
    • If it exists, modify the existing record to include 1-Grid (details in the table below).
    • If not, create a new TXT record.
Example of an updated SPF record:
Host Type Value
@ or blank TXT v=spf1 include:another.net include:spf1.ip4:41.185.8.225 ~all
Example of a new SPF record:
Host Type Value
@ or blank TXT v=spf1 include:spf1.ip4:41.185.8.225 ~all
  1. Save your changes in the DNS control panel.
Allow up to 48 hours for DNS propagation, depending on your DNS host.

If No SPF Record Exists:

Use the Email Deliverability tool to view or install the suggested SPF record.

  • If your DNS is hosted on 1‑Grid, click “Install Suggested Record”.

  • If your DNS is managed elsewhere (e.g., Cloudflare), copy the record and publish it manually via your DNS provider.
