SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is an email authentication method that helps prevent unauthorized senders from sending emails using your domain. It works by verifying that Mailchimp is allowed to send email on your behalf.
This guide will walk you through how to configure SPF for Mailchimp, a popular email marketing platform used to create and send campaigns, newsletters, and automated emails.
Mailchimp uses its own domain in the return-path to manage things like bounces and unsubscribes. Because of this setup, SPF alignment will fail, which is expected and not a problem.
You do not need to include Mailchimp in your SPF record for DMARC purposes.
Even though SPF won’t align, as long as DKIM is properly configured, your emails will still pass DMARC authentication.
