Perception Point SPF Setup

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is an email authentication method that helps prevent unauthorized senders from using your domain. By specifying which mail servers are allowed to send on your behalf, SPF helps protect against spoofing and improves email deliverability.

Perception Point is a cybersecurity platform that offers advanced threat prevention for email, web browsers, and cloud collaboration tools—often integrating with email systems to scan and intercept threats in real time.

This guide will walk you through the steps to configure SPF for your domain when using Perception Point to ensure your outbound email remains trusted and secure.

Perception Point SPF Requirements

Note: If you’re already using Sendmarc for SPF management, simply copy ‘include:perception-point.io’ and follow the steps here.

To authorize Perception Point to send emails on your domain’s behalf:

  1. Log in to your domain’s DNS dashboard.
  2. Go to the page where you can update the DNS settings on that domain.
  3. Check if a TXT record starting with v=spf1 already exists.
    • If it exists, modify the existing record to include Perception Point (details in the table below).
    • If not, create a new TXT record.

Example of an updated SPF record:

HostTypeValue
@ or blankTXTv=spf1 include:another.net include:perception-point.io ~all

Example of a new SPF record:

HostTypeValue
@ or blankTXTv=spf1 include:perception-point.io ~all
  1. Save your changes in the DNS control panel.

Allow up to 48 hours for DNS propagation, depending on your DNS host.
