Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security SPF Setup

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is an email authentication method that identifies which mail servers are allowed to send emails on behalf of your domain. Configuring SPF helps reduce spoofing, improve email deliverability, and protect your domain from unauthorized use.

Trend Micro Email Security, including the InterScan Messaging Security platform, offers advanced protection against threats and supports SPF checking to validate sender authenticity.

This guide will walk you through the steps to configure SPF for your domain when using Trend Micro as your email relay or filtering service.

Trend Micro Interscan SPF Requirements

Note: If you’re already using Sendmarc for SPF management, simply copy ‘include:spf-us.tmes.trendmicro.com’ and follow the steps here.

To authorize Trend Micro Interscan to send emails on your domain’s behalf:

  1. Log in to your domain’s DNS dashboard.
  2. Go to the page where you can update the DNS settings on that domain.
  3. Check if a TXT record starting with v=spf1 already exists.
    • If it exists, modify the existing record to include Trend Micro Interscan (details in the table below).
    • If not, create a new TXT record.

Example of an updated SPF record:

HostTypeValue
@ or blankTXTv=spf1 include:another.net include:spf-us.tmes.trendmicro.com ~all

Example of a new SPF record:

HostTypeValue
@ or blankTXTv=spf1 include:spf-us.tmes.trendmicro.com ~all
  1. Save your changes in the DNS control panel.

Allow up to 48 hours for DNS propagation, depending on your DNS host.
