DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is an authentication method that uses cryptographic signatures to ensure the authenticity and integrity of email messages. It helps receiving mail servers verify that messages came from your domain and were not altered in transit.
This article explains how to configure DKIM for email sent via Autotask PSA.
To enable DKIM authentication for your domain in Autotask, you must first configure your domain’s DNS with the correct CNAME record. Once complete, Autotask will use this record to sign outbound email with a secure cryptographic signature, helping to verify that the messages originate from your domain and haven’t been altered in transit.
Access Domain Settings:
Navigate to the Domain Settings page within your Autotask account.
Hover over the context menu next to the domain you wish to configure and select Authentication Details.
Check the DKIM Settings Provided:
You will see the required CNAME settings displayed. Before clicking Authenticate Domain, make sure the above CNAME record is added and saved in your domain’s DNS settings/Sendmarc DKIM Manager (if you’re making use of it).
Go to your domain registrar or DNS hosting provider.
Create a CNAME record using the name and value provided by Autotask.
Save your changes and allow DNS propagation (can take up to 48 hours).
4.Authenticate the Domain in Autotask:
Return to the Authentication Details dialog in Autotask.
Click Authenticate Domain.
Success Confirmation:
If the DNS is configured correctly and propagated, a success message will appear confirming that the domain has been authenticated.
To update your DKIM record through Sendmarc, please refer to the Sendmarc DKIM Setup Documentation.
